Lojas Gato Preto is a Portuguese chain of decoration stores established in 1986 in Lisbon. It has more than 70 stores in the Iberian Peninsula, and about 10 stores in France.
In the Outcat outlet store – Freeport Lisboa Fashion Outlet’s Loja do Gato Preto, you will find furniture and all kinds of objects and decoration utensils and household utilities.
In 1986, the cat of Marina Ramos and Mário Tendeiro’s house presented her owners with a black kitten. Gato Preto (The Black Cat) - in addition to being the name of the brand - has also become a symbol of luck, sophistication and exclusivity. Since then, the company has been selling handicrafts and decorations under the motto ‘Casas Livres, Donos Felizes ‘(Free Homes, Happy Owners).
Loja do Gato Preto is especially fond of cats and feline behavior and, therefore, the stores offer several collections inspired by these animals. Since 1999, the collections have been designed from scratch within the company - drawing, selection of materials, textures and packaging. Examples are the various tableware collections and collections of cushions, curtains and bedspreads.
The concept underlying A Loja do Gato Preto reflects an unconventional way of life, analogous to the ways of cats, incapable of stillness. The products blend styles and trends from all over the world, and every month brings new product offerings to generate varied and original environments. About thirty new complete collections are released each year, mostly limited editions. A Loja do Gato Preto’s limited editions have already won awards for being a distinctive offering in the market and are essentially the natural outcome of a long relationship of complicity with the public.
